    Responsible for doing..

    Hello
    could you please help me?!
According to my knowledge of grammar, when we want to use the word "resposible" in the sense of having job/duty, we have to add a preposition "for" + Ving. Such as, Mike is responsible for designing the entire project. But in the following sentence, the phrase " responsible +for doing" is not used. Why???
Antibiotics: (1950) The great era of discovery of present-day antibiotics begins, and WHO begins advising countries on their responsible use.
    Thanks.

    Re: Responsible for doing..

'Responsible' there is used attributively, that is, it comes before the noun.

    Re: Responsible for doing..

It's an adjective. A responsible person; responsible use; responsible behaviour, etc. There is no need for 'for' to come after it.
