    When Maria came home

I am wondering if my sentence is grammatically correct.

When Maria came home, her mother asked her with whom had she gone to the concert.

You can say with whom she had gone to the concert. You don't invert the subject and the verb here because it's a statement reporting a question, not a question itself.

    Teechar's version is more natural.
    I am not a teacher.
