    Hi All,
    I have a vocabulary-related question:

Individuals should also take responsibility for the impact they have on the environment.

    Here, take responsibility means:
The individuals should be blamed for something that they have done to the environment or blame for something that has happened.
    The #2 meaning:

No - it's more like meaning #3: individuals have a duty/obligation to protect the environment.

    Thanks teacher.
But in the meaning that you mentioned, the noun 'responsibility' doesn't take the verb 'take' as its collocation. However, Can we use it?
For example in the links below, only definition #1 and #2 use 'take' as its collocation:

    It can.

There are many other verbs that can be used with the noun that are not listed. Dictionaries give a small number of examples to assist in the understanding of the definition. They are not concerned with listing all words that can possibly collocate with the word defined.
