    polish act

    Hi!
What is the exact meaning of "polish ac" in the following passage? It is about a lawsuit.
If his thought was that ICJ should determine whichnationalization law to apply, as he seemed to infer at one point inconversation reported Tehran’s 2425, December 26,2 theywould consider this dangerous principle as court conceivably would apply somepolish act of a confiscatory nature.
    Thanks vey much.

    Re: polish act

    It doesn't make sense.
“Every miserable fool who has nothing at all of which he can be proud, adopts as a last resource pride in the nation to which he belongs; he is ready and happy to defend all its faults and follies tooth and nail, thus reimbursing himself for his own inferiority.”

And as we've told you before, when you paste text, it frequently loses the spaces between words. You need edit your post to add those missing spaces.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

    Hi!
I saw it in documents of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the US. It is from a political telegram of 1953. It is pertaining to the oil dispute between Persia and England which was to be referred to the International Court of Justice. All those telegrams have a special shortened style.
    Thanks very much.

    Re: polish act

Perhaps it's supposed to be the demonym 'Polish'? The article seems to have multiple minor grammatical errors such as missing articles and prepositions.

Even if so, I still don't know what a 'Polish act' might be referring to. Unless it's a derogatory term for something done ineptly, similar to the slurs heard in Polack jokes.

    Re: polish act

The missing spaces haven't been added in post #1 and pars has not returned to the thread to reply or even click Like/Thank so I'm closing it.

I can't think of anything. It could be a text error.

    Re: polish act

The only thing I can think of is that there are more missing words and that it should have been something like:

... they would consider this dangerous principle as court conceivably would apply some polish to the/an act of a confiscatory nature."

The rest of it still doesn't make any sense, admittedly!
