To use or not to use "the" in this sentece

I'd like to know that should we "use" the in the following sentence or not. Kindly please tell me why "the" should be used or avoided.

I have previous experience in translation of different books.

"The" is needed because you are being specific about the type of experience to which you refer. I don't find the sentence particularly natural though. I would use "I have experience of translating different [types of] books".
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
