    Computer engineering

    Hi all,
May I ask someone to check this paragraph for mistakes?

"I first got into computer science when I was at school. In fact, my fourth-grade teacher first sparked my curiosity in computer science because she was such an experienced teacher whose teaching method was far more straightforward and her great enthusiasm inspired her students, too. Furthermore, she always encouraged us to take some computer courses outside school since she strongly believed that the more we got to know it, the more it interested us. Finally, at the end of fourth-grade, I became mad keen on computer, and then I planned to pursue a career in computer engineering. "

Note that "got into" and "became mad keen on" are informal. If you're writing a formal text, use, for example, "became interested in" and "realized that I wanted to work with" respectively instead.

Thanks so much teechar. I really appreciate your help. I couldn't believe that there were a few mistakes not many, in my opinion actually.

Sure teechar. I got it. It was absolutely great point and tip.

she strongly believed that the more we got to know about it,
we have the phrase "get to know somebody/something" in the following links. However, can we use 'get to know about somebody/something', too?
