    disparaging

Is "disparaging" correct here? Can it be replaced with "vilifying", "debasing" or "degrading"?

Hollywood movies are famous for glorifying America and disparaging other countries.

"Disparaging" is fine. You could replace it with "vilifying" as a somewhat stronger term. The other two words don't really work.

    Re: disparaging

For example, some American political commentators like to disparage Sweden for its social-democratic policies. The vilify ISIS for spreading terror and mayhem.
