    Difference between retention and retainment.

    Hello,

I would really appreciate if someone could tell me the difference b/w "retention" and "retainment."

Thank for your time and consideration.

Re: Difference between retention and retainment.

Although 'retainment' is listed in Webster's 1913 dictionary, I have never seen or heard it used. It has (or had, when it was in use) the same meaning as retention. I suggest that you don't use it.
“Every miserable fool who has nothing at all of which he can be proud, adopts as a last resource pride in the nation to which he belongs; he is ready and happy to defend all its faults and follies tooth and nail, thus reimbursing himself for his own inferiority.”
