    Yes or No?

    Could you please look at this:
    Two friends have just listened to a new song. They have neither heard it before nor talked about it. One of them says,
    a)Yes, the song in not bad at all.
    b)No, the song in not bad at all.

    Which is correct? My choice is a), but Id like to make sure.

    Interesting question. My personal view is that neither of these sentences would be the first thing that was said immediately after the two friends had listened to the song. a) would be a reply to a statement such as "I think that is a good one", while b) would be a reply to "That song isn't bad, is it?"

    a is correc. because YES is used as WELL, at the begining of statements. it is a goos start for conversation

    I got it. Actually what I needed was to know if a formally negative (not bad) statement could follow Yes.
