Hello.

Are the following sentences grammatically correct?

In the hallway of his apartment, Carl stopped for a couple of seconds, seeing Lloyd and Susan working fast, preparing the second part of the practical joke. He resumed his walk to the kitchen to prepare the "special" drink for his friend. In this second time, Carl breathed deeply and finally decided that instead of smashing three of the pills with hallucinogens he smashed two pills. After that he mixed the drink and the hallucinogen in a cocktail shaker.

Thanks.

Hello.

In the hallway of his apartment, Carl stopped for a couple of seconds, seeing Lloyd and Susan working fast, preparing the second part of the practical joke. He resumed his walk to the kitchen to prepare the "special" drink for his friend.

In this second time (I think you mean "For the second time", but there is no first time for it to refer back to), Carl breathed deeply and finally decided that instead of [STRIKE]smashing[/STRIKE] crushing three of the hallucinogenic pills [strike]with hallucinogens[/strike] he [STRIKE]smashed[/STRIKE] would crush two pills. After [STRIKE]that[/STRIKE] doing so, he mixed the drink and the hallucinogen in a cocktail shaker.

Thanks.

See above. If you use "he decided that instead of v+ing", you need to follow it with "he would v(inf) ...". You could make it less awkward by saying "... and finally decided to crush two hallucinogenic pills instead of three".
