    Have forgotten or forgot?

I'm walking out of a bar and I'm putting my hand in my pocket, and I can't find my wallet.
So it's better to say "I have forgotten my wallet" or "I forgot my wallet" ?

It depends. Your original sentences change from present tense to past tense for no apparent reason. You could therefore use either phrase for the same reason.
What does, "I left my pocket" mean? Maybe you could amend your question.

    Re: Have forgotten or forgot?

Please don't edit post #1 in any thread after it has received responses. Can you see that post #2 now looks rather strange because "I left my pocket" no longer appears in post #1. When Raymott asked you to amend the question, he meant that you should write a new version of the question in the next response.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
