    The well-know writer turned down

I am wondering if my sentences are grammatically correct. I am not sure about the last part of my second sentence.

The well-known writer turned down the Nobel Prize in protest against the establishment and misogyny. She told the media that only a man could have put up a prize whose money had come from the proceeds from dynamite sales.

You could say who had made his fortune from selling dynamite.
