Is the bold part a non-defining adjective clause that describes "life" in a sentence?

    How about my analysis?

Did the ad glamorize life? Does 'life' emphasize travel and adventure in the army? I don't think so.

Does the army emphasize travel and adventure? It might use that as a gimmick but I don't this is the ultimate goal.

    Please stick with the original.
    Thanks for your explanation.

    No. Like this:

The ad, which emphasized travel and adventure, glamorized life in the army.

Although this rephrasing may help you better understand the sentence, it's still not identical to the original so stick with the original.
