    What / Which

    Which type / kind / sort of films do you like best: horror or detective films?
    What type / kind / sort of films do you like best: horror or detective films?

    Two questions:
    (1) Are “type / kind / sort” usually interchangeable?
    (2) Do they require “what” or “which”?

    You'll hear both "What" and "Which" at the start of these questions. I prefer "What".
    In this context, type/kind/sort are interchangeable.

    (Note that we don't put a space either side of a slash mark, as shown in the last sentence above.)
    Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
