    A "slumber party" is also known as a "sleepover". It's usually a party for kids or teenagers where they all get together at someone's house but, instead of going home at the end of the evening, they all sleep there, normally in the same room. From what I gather, they don't usually get much sleep!

    Are you sure you posted the entire sentence from the book? As it stands it isn't grammatical. The first clause doesn't have a verb.
    Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
