to shield from or to shield against

    Hello all users!
She held her hand above her eyes to shield them from the sun.
    Is to possible to say?
She held her hand above her eyes to shield them against the sun.
I have found very few sentences using the verb "shield against". Is it not used at all?
    What is your opinion?
    Thank you.

Re: to shield from or to shield against

It's understandable but from is more typical.
