    yes I could as an answer to 'Could you?'

    Hi,

    Can we use 'Yes, I could' or 'No, I couldn't' as an answer to the requests, for example,

    A: Could you lend me five pounds until tomorrow?
    B: Yes, I could. / No, I couldn't.

    Be careful as that could be considered a flippant response. A more natural answer would be, e.g., "Yeah sure", "Yes, of course" or "Absolutely".
