Prepositions used for "evening/morning/afternoon" when modified

    Are these sentences all OK?
My guess is that sentences 3, 5 and 8 are not good.

    1. She arrived in Singapore on the evening of Monday.
    2. She arrived in Singapore on Monday evening.
    3. She arrived in Singapore Monday evening.
    4. She arrived in Singapore on the evening of July 4.
    5. She arrived in Singapore in the evening of Monday.
    6. She arrived in Singapore in the evening on Monday .
    7. She arrived in Singapore on Monday in the evening.
    8. She arrived in Singapore in a rather hot evening.
    9. She arrived in Singapore on a rather hot evening.

    I wouldn't use 1, 5, 8.

#1 would be okay if you included a date.

She arrived in Singapore on the evening of Monday, March 3rd.

That works, but it doesn't stand without the date for me.
