    Difference between grow and come in a context.

    What is the difference in the sentences below?

    I grew to appreciate her in a moment.
    I came to appreciate her in a moment.

    I grew to think bad things about him.
    I came to think bad things about him.

    I grew to misunderstand the situation.
    I came to misunderstand the situation.

    I don't think I understand what these sentences mean:
    "I grew to misunderstand the situation"
    "I grew to appreciate her in a moment"

    Meanwhile, "I came to misunderstand the situation" makes sense.

    In sentences like this, grow is normally used to describe a process that took time, rather than a sudden change. It would work for me if you changed this to over the following year or something.
