    Degree of uncertainty

Hi, I'd like to know how uncertain you are when you use the following expressions. When you say 1 or 2, are you more certain than when you just say "I am not sure"?

I believe that 1 and 2 are similar, but I am not sure about 3. 3 sounds a little less certain to me.

    1. I am not too sure.
    2. I am not so sure.
    3. I am not really sure.

The reason why I am asking this question is that I often find myself using these expressions. As a non-native speaker, I come across uncertain things every day and would like to use these effectively.

    * I am also not sure if I should use the definite article with my title, Degree of uncertainty. After some consideration, I decided not to use it. 'Degree' could be both countable and uncountable nouns, so I hesitate to use A as well.

    Thank you.

    Re: Degree of uncertainty

Thank you for answering my question. What you said is very true. I don't know how to say this, but I am 100% sure that I am not sure when I am not sure.

    Re: Degree of uncertainty

Also, when speaking, we could change the level of certainty by stressing sounds.
