long after, after long, long before, before long

    Hi teachers

I am really confused to use these four phrases:long after, after long, long before, before long.

I think they are conjunctions. I know the meanings of the words: after, before. But I have no ideas what they mean when they have a word "long" with.

Could you please tell me what they mean and how to use them? Thank you!
