    Q:The two clock towers are connected by the bridge.

    Ans: Connecting the bridge are the two clock towers.
    OR
    Connecting the two clock towers is the bridge.

    The above are my daughter's sentences.

    She has rephrased the sentence as shown above.

    I told her the second is the correct answer. Am I right?

    You are right.
    The two clock towers stand vertically and are connected horizontally by the bridge, which is the connector.
    You cannot have it the other way round where the tower blocks are the connectors, which the first sentence is saying.

    You should also point out that "Q:The two clock towers are connected by the bridge." is not a question.

    "Are the two clock towers connected by the bridge?"
