    Question ?

    Could you please help me?
I need two sentences using (weep and cry). I know that basically they have the same meaning but you guys can clarify the different.

    I really appreciate your help..

    Re: ?

'Weep' and 'cry' are very close in meaning (as you’ve pointed it out). However, I would say that in everyday life, 'weeping’ is used less frequently than 'crying'. Also, weeping (to me) sounds much softer than crying. I mean… crying is something that can be heard, whereas weeping has more to do with tears... Yet again, that’s just my understanding of those two words.

I agree with Doris. Cry and weep both involve tears, but cry involves also sound. I have heard those two words in the same frequency.
