    timeout setting

    Hi.

I find that I frequently have to re-login. It is just an inconvenience but then I have seen somewhere here that there is a timeout setting to automatically sign you out of the website.

I often take several minutes composing a response. Sometimes I bounce between other sites and this site for one reason or another and I can pretty much guarantee I will logged out by the time I try to post another response.

Is that setting adjustable by the individual or is it set within the software and cannot be adjuster by a user?

Just check the "keep me logged in" box when you log in. Why not?

I do. But that doesn't effect a timeout situation. It it just makes logging in again easier.

Hmm. I wonder if your browser is failing to store cookies for this site. I stay logged in for weeks at a time.

If you check the remember me or stay in option, then you should stay logged in and not get timed out. Which browser are you using?

Yup, and there's a chance that this could be due to a corrupt cookie from the site so try clearing cookies from UsingEnglish.com. For help doing this see https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/32050
I'm not a teacher, so please consider any advice I give in that context.
