    (the) email address

    Hi,

    1. Use the email address testemail @ whatever.com
    2. Use email address testemail @ whatever.com

    Which is better?

    Thanks,

The first is better. Don't use testemail though. It looks like a mistaken singular version of "testesmail" ("testicles mail").

Why not? With spaces it looks like a pigeon. Or an ice-cream. Or whatever (.com).

If you think I'm crazy, you're right. But I did not leave the spaces there because I'm crazy but because I didn't want the fictitius e-mail address to be formatted as a hyperlink. I did not find any other way of doing this (the forum seems to add hyperlinks to anything that looks like an e-mail address).

By the way, in the above paragraph, should I have written "I did not leave the spaces there because I was crazy but because I didn't want..." I think "because I'm crazy" is OK, but could you please confirm that I'm right?

"... because I'm crazy" was OK there.

I realised that you had laid the email address out like that so it didn't come up on screen as an actual email address.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

You can work around the forum software with formatting. Here I put the at sign in bold: name@domain.com.
