A customer to a taxi company over the phone: I just availed your taxi service. I want to make a complaint against the driver who drove me "home" or "to my destination". This person cheated and despite being asked not to take a longer route he took the longer route to get more money. He could have taken me to my destination "via" or "from" Greenfield but he took the Bristol path. That was a long cut and added ten kilometers to my journey.

A customer to a taxi company over the phone:
A customer called a taxi company and here is the telephone conversation:

I just [STRIKE]availed[/STRIKE] used your taxi service.

I [STRIKE]want[/STRIKE] would like to make a complaint against the driver who drove me [STRIKE]"home" or "to my destination"[/STRIKE] from A to B.

Number of the taxi?

This person cheated and despite being asked not to take a longer route he took the longer route to get more money.
The driver was not being honest; he took me through a longer route even though I had told him not to.

He could have taken me to my destination "via" or "from" Greenfield but he took the Bristol path. That was a long cut and added ten kilometers to my journey.

He could have taken the route via Greenfield but he took the Bristol route which was 10 km longer.

Note that the opposite of 'a short cut' is not 'a long cut'.

We say 'The driver went a long way round'.

Can I say "He took me a long way round" or "He took a long way round to my destination"?

In BrE, we would say "He took [me] the long way round". I would probably say something like "He didn't take the shortest/quickest route".
