I need an illustration explanation for the answer. I think it's either "improve" or "improving".
    Welcome to the forum.

Your member profile shows that you are an English teacher so which option would you tell your students is correct and why?

Note that I have changed your thread title. Titles should include some/all of the words/phrases you are querying. Also note my corrections to your post above.

Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

Thank you for your reply .I think the right answer is "improving" as "devote to"is followed by gerund but my colleague think that "improve" is right here.

You are right. Only "improving" fits.
