Bob sat on an upturned beer crate

I am wondering if my sentence is grammatically correct.

Bob sat on an upturned beer crate, chopping wood in his garden.

You can't really chop wood while sitting on a flimsy beer crate. You could split kindling or feed logs into a log splitter while seated, but you really need to be on your feet to chop wood.

The sentence is grammatically correct though.

    GoesStation,

"Kindling" is the word I needed from the beginning, but I couldn't remember it and therefore I used "wood."

You split kindling with any of a number of implements - a hatchet or an axe, usually. "Chopping" is, to me, a much more vigorous activity involving an axe.

"Upturned" works for me. I think of it as a crate standing on one end. "Overturned" doesn't work as well, even though it's logical.
