Red face Usage of 'neither...nor', 'not...or' and 'not...nor'

    Are these sentences grammatical?

1- I neither usually wake up at 6 am, nor do I like to wake up at 5 am.
2- We neither wear the same clothes, nor do we eat the same food.
3- We don't wear the same clothes or eat the same food.
4- We don't wear the same clothes nor do we eat the same food.

1- I neither usually wake up at 6 am, nor do I like to wake up at 5 am. This is so unnatural that it doesn't matter whether it's grammatical.
2- We neither wear the same clothes, nor do we eat the same food.
3- We don't wear the same clothes or eat the same food. This is the most natural way to express the thought.
4- We don't wear the same clothes nor do we eat the same food. A punctuation mark would make this grammatical but it still wouldn't be very natural.
    See above.

Admittedly, that's unusual; but it's not impossible.

A: Come on! Don't you usually wake up at 6 am? You said that you like an early start. I think 5 am is okay, don't you?
B: I neither usually wake up at 6 am, nor do I like to wake up at 5 am.

I don't have a major problem with that sentence.

    Re: Usage of 'neither...nor', 'not...or' and 'not...nor'

It would be fine to write We neither wear the same clothes nor eat the same food. It would also be okay to write We don't wear the same clothes, nor do we eat the same food. Combining the two forms violates the usual usage of neither... nor.

    Re: Usage of 'neither...nor', 'not...or' and 'not...nor'

I must say that I can't see it violating any rule.

@subhajit123: I note that this has been discussed elsewhere on the Web.

In future, please indicate the source of any third-party material you use in your posts. Otherwise, you'd be breaking the rules!
