If you go to southern part of India you will find that the temperature is moderate.

If you go to southern part of India you will find that the temperature is moderate (neither hot nor cold through out the year) there. If you move above and reach the middle part you will see that the temperature is quiet hot in summers (like 45-50 degree Celsius) and it can drop to 0 or 1 degree Celsius in winters. "When you move above further" or "move above a bit" you will find the climate drops to -18 degree Celsius. If you move move to eastern part of India you will find the hottest and the coldest places of India like Sikkim where temperature can drop to -40 degree Celsius. If you move to the west you will find the dessert of Rajasthan.
