    Teachers, which of the followning is correctt?

    Yesterday, I was busy working when a cat was approaching me.

    The first is grammatical and natural but you have misspelt "approa​ched".

    The use of the simple past continuous in the second doesn't work.
    Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
