    Don't use "the reason why". "Why" is redundant there. The rest is OK except that it would end with a colon and then the reason. It's not a complete sentence as it stands so can't end with a full stop.
    Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
