    New officers will be elected by our club when we had our next meeting in Agust.

    New officers will be elected by our club when we hold our next meeting in Agust.

    I think writer used "will" to predeic future. Can I have your ideas?
    I have leraned that for something that is planned we cannot use "will". That 's why the sentence above is confusing.

    I am not a teacher, but you certainly may use "will" for things that are planned, as well as things you are predicting! It is very, very common.

    For example:

    I will eat dinner tonight.
    I will fall asleep if I drink too much!
    I will attend the meeting on Friday.
    If you pick me up, I will go with you.

    It is so common, there is a contraction for it:
    I will --> I'll
    He will --> He'll
    She will --> She'll
    etc.

    Experience is recognizing a mistake the second time you make it.

    We have various ways of expressing the future. When grammar books give rules, they are often describing patterns. There is a lot of overlap, where different forms can be used in the same sentence. It is ofetn better to think of what grammar books say about the future as guidelines rather than absolute laws.
