cause to born of; new kind of virus

I am trying to form a sentence in English. Would you help me form it?

    1. "Macro feature of Excel and Word caused a new kind of virus to born."

    2. "Macro feature of Excel and Word cause to born a new kind of virus."

    Thank you.

The beginning of the sentence needs a definite article.

Born is a past participle. You cause something to happen; the last two words are the to- infinitive form of a verb. In this case, you want to cause something to be born.

Applying the two corrections I described above will make sentence 1 correct. Sentence 2 could also be corrected this way but it would be very unnatural.

Finally, did the macro feature really cause the creation of new viruses? I think you mean that it made their creation possible.

Not exactly. They created, macro feature cause their creation.

    Thank you.

Macros existed in spreadsheet and word processing software long before MS-Word and Excel reared their ugly heads. What led to the creation of viruses was Microsoft's plan to achieve hegemony by giving away its software in the late 1980s. Regrettably, Microsoft succeeded in this ambition, in the process bankrupting the makers of competing software, some of which was superior to Microsoft's offerings. I especially miss Lotus123 and WordPerfect.

An unintended consequence of Microsoft's hegemony was the inclination of virus-makers to focus on the vulnerabilities in its applications.

No. The existence of a feature that makes viruses possible does not create the viruses. Malevolent people do that.

Then the original version of the sentence which I am trying to translate here is logically wrong.

    Thank you.
