play a big part in the outcomes in a person's life.

    Hello all,
I have two questions regarding the following context:

    1) Is the bold part a cleft sentence?
    2) In dictionaries, "of" is the preposition of "outcome". However, I can't figure the underlined part out.

Where do these attitudes come form? What is it that makes one person generally optimistic while someone else is pessimistic? Psychologists and researchers are not really sure, although it appears that genetics may play a part. What we do know is these two attitudes play a big part in the outcomes in a person's life.

In works for me. The outcomes in a person's life are a series of results or milestones the person experiences. The outcomes of a person's life are results which could be enumerated after the person dies.
    I am not a teacher.

I see nothing wrong with outcomes either - lives are complex and can have many outcomes.
