    suicide

    Let me know if I can say these in English?
    1. We were shocked to hear/to learn that she had committed suicide.
    2. We were shocked, when we heared that she had committed suicide.
    3. We were shocked as we heared that she had committed suicide.
    4. We were shocked as we learned that she had committed suicide.
    5. We were shocked as/when we learned that she had killed herself.

    2. would be OK if you spelt heard correctly.
    3. and 4. are unnatural to me.
    5. is OK with when but not with as.
