Searching the internet I came across the following definition: "[h=2]As nouns the difference between specialty and specialization[/h][FONT="] is that [/FONT][FONT="]specialty[/FONT][FONT="] is that in which one specializes; a chosen expertise or talent while [/FONT][FONT="]specialization[/FONT][FONT="] is the process of specializing. "
I also came across this sentence:"[/FONT]Brian is a linguist whose specialization is phonology".
According to the definition above, shouldn't we say "....whose specialty is phonology"?
