    Here are some common sentences of everyday life.
    Please check my comments.

    1. It turned out to be difficult.
    2. It proved to be extremely difficult.
    3. It turns out to be difficult.
    4. It turned out to be difficult.
    5. That would turn out to be difficult.

    Note that #1 and #4 are identical!
    They're all grammatical, but #3 is unusual and #5 is even more so.
