    Is my sentence correct?
I wouldn't have thought it was possible.

Where is the conditional clause, as you wrote 'Conditional' in the thread title?

Re: Conditional Simple II + Simple Past

I thought "wouldn't have thought" is conditional clause. Obviously that's not the case here!

Let me tell you what I'm trying to say with that. In the past happened an event. Back at that time I didn't think that this event would take place.

There's nothing wrong with "I wouldn't have thought it was possible". There is no conditional involved though.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

Re: Conditional Simple II + Simple Past

The simple past and the modal perfect are used in Matthew's sentence and the OP's respectively.

    No conditional has been used.
    I am not a teacher.
