    which left her - leaving her

    Are both of these sentences correct? Do both of these sentences have the same meaning?

    1. She suffered a stroke, which left her with hemiplegia.
    2. She suffered a stroke, leaving her with hemiplegia.

    Yes, they do.
    No.1 uses a subordinate clause.
    No. 2 uses a participial phrase.
    I am not a teacher or a native speaker.

    I would put a comma after stroke in both.
