Before the ban on incandescent light bulbs came

I am wondering if my sentence is grammatically correct.

Before the ban on incandescent light bulbs came into effect, Peter had bought hundreds of them, which would probably last to the rest of his life.

Remove "to" before "rest of his life".
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
