[Essay] Advantage of computerized information system over manual system

Before the launch of first professional personal computer (PC) almost all the official work in any organisation were in manual system. In manual system all the information in any organisation is recorded by hand. Keeping records by hand , there is much possibilities of error. Suppose that in manual system a office clerk forgot serial number and entered wrong number and then after some time he realized that the number he entered is incorrect. In this case there no chance to undo or edit or delete his incorrect entries. So like this case there are lots of disadvantages of manual system. But a computerized information system has many more advantages. Computerized information system means a information system in which computers, users and network all involved in keeping records or managing information. In computerized information system,there is very low possibilities of error in data handling. The importance of accuracy is prior in many organisation like Research Laboratory, Diagnostic centers etc. Error full or inaccurate data is useless and sometime harmful. Humans are often get bored in doing repetitive work. But repetitive work is not a problem for computers. Computers can do any work repeatedly without getting bored or tired. In manual system there should be more space to keep records and also there are some security issues regarding record which is written on the physical papers. In computerized information system don't worry about lots of physical space. A wallet-sized Hard disk can stores data equivalent to tonnes of physical paper records. So in this way physical computerized information system is also cheaper than manual system.
