he is delivered to my doorstep

"Issa is a man and I am still a boy. I always wanted a brother and here he is delivered to my doorstep, and I rejected him. He suffered like a true defender of his beliefs while I courted cheap glory in the boxing ring."

Would you explain the part "he is delivered to my doorstep". I cannot understand it because I cannot associate any definition in the link to it.

    Thank you.

Re: he is delivered to my doorstep

It's figurative. I take it to mean: "I got/received exactly the thing I was looking for."

He turned up on my doorstep? Delivered by fate?
