    During the long winter days,

I am wondering if my sentence is grammatically correct.

During the long winter days, the sun would appear as a pale ball, before disappearing behind the horizon.

Re: During the long winter days,

The second comma doesn't belong there. I'd be tempted to write the sentence without any commas at all.

Re: During the long winter days,

That doesn't sound like a "long" winter day.

Or 'During the short winter days ... before disappearing behind below the horizon'.

Yep. That makes sense. The defining characteristic of winter days is that they are short. And here in Canada, at least, the winter months are way long!

Re: During the long winter days,

In the UK, we have long winter nights, with shorter days, so months works better for me.
