    They're grammatical, but not very natural. If I understand what you mean, I think you'd be better served by substituting 'mutual'.

    That's good to know. In German you would say "Das ist nicht von allgemeinem Interesse." Those sentences are more or less set phrases and belong to
    common speech.

    What about if I would use "general"? Is that common? Does that sound natural?

    "Mutual" doesn't work at all for me. General is a good substitute.

    'General' works, but has a different meaning than 'mutual'. Something could be of mutual interest, but not of general interest, and vice-versa.
