    As or like

'As' or 'like': which one should I use in the sentence?

1- As/like his father, he is known for planting false stories against his rivals.

    Use "like".
I would use "fabricating" instead of "planting".
I am not a teacher or a native speaker.

If you use "fabricating", you can omit "false". I wouldn't use "against". I'd use "about".
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

It depends- you can plant a fake story in the media. If this is the case here, then I would say where the stories were planted.

Yes, you would need a place to plant the story, don't you? There is no mention of that in OP's sentence.

It could depend on the wider context too.
