    any good

    Hello everybody!

    What does "any good" mean?

We ran through the list, but none of the machines seemed any good.
    Reference: http://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/none.

If it's helpful think of, 'none of the machines seemed any good' as being equivalent to, 'all of the machines seemed no good'.
    I am not a teacher

"any" comes in front of a noun, I don't understand why it came in front of an adjective!!!
