you are gaining from doing such activities.

    Which one is better?

Another advantage of participating in extreme sports is that the self-confidence that you gain from doing such activities.

You need to delete the "that' after "is".
Or you need to change it to "... in extreme sports is that you gain self-confidence from doing ..."

    Thank you Tzfujimino.
Could you please tell me which tense is better? I think because self-confidence takes time to be gained, it would be better to be used in progressive tense.

I wouldn't use the present progressive/continuous. I'd use either the present simple, as I have shown above, or the modal auxiliary 'will'.

    "That you gain" is best.

Note that your thread title is a mess; it's neither one thing nor the other.

Urdu and Hindi speakers tend to use progressive tenses far too often in English. I don't know whether this is the result of teaching methods or whether these tenses agree better with Urdu/Hindi tense structures; in any case, when you can't decide between simple present and present continuous/progressive, I think you're more likely to be right if you choose the simple present.
