    matter

    I looked up for the "matter" in some dictionary in the sentence below, Does it mean "[usually with negative or in questions] Be important or significant" according to :

    As the game reached its climax none of that seemed to matter.

    It's a verb meaning "to be important" or "to be significant", and it's used in positive structures too, such as in Black Lives Matter.
