    The light of dawn seeped

I am wondering if my sentence is grammatically correct.

The light of dawn seeped between the slats of the blind.

Why couldn't the OP be talking about a single blind?

Come to think of it, blinds and slats are the same thing. There are usually about twenty or thirty in a set. But just one? (A window shade is a different matter.)

Just one is possible according to the following definition:

    Venetian blind
A blind across a window, made of flat narrow pieces joined with string.

I suppose you can use "blind" to refer to the whole the whole thing. (There's been an ad on the radio recently for blinds that you install yourself.)
